Hello Esports Enthusiasts,

I hope that you’re ready for another season of competitive esports after a restful summer! As we approach the start of our fall scholastic esports season, we at PSEL have a big announcement that we’d like to share with the community. We have officially partnered with PlayVS to bring some of the best competitive esports practices to Pennsylvania schools!

As the Pennsylvania affiliate for NASEF (Network of Academic and Scholastic Esports Federations) we at PSEL strive to align with their national goals to the best of our ability. When NASEF began their partnership with PlayVS in the fall of 2023 we were interested to hear what they could to do help improve our already blossoming state-wide esports league. After getting together with the PlayVS team we were able to reach an agreement that would allow both parties to flourish while improving the number of, and quality of, esports opportunities for students across Pennsylvania.

PSEL is dedicated to our vision of educating young people, prioritize learning and inclusivity, all while providing students a safe and structured environment to play competitively at a local, state, and national level. The team at PlayVS has echoed their support of these goals, while also prioritizing students building character and developing discipline, self-esteem, communication skills, and sportsmanship through esports practice and competition.

As we begin our 2024 fall season, we will be prioritizing the onboarding process for coaches to become familiar with the PlayVS online platform. This will be utilized for all PSEL matches moving forward. In addition to providing a new platform, PlayVS will also be offering a number of online, and in-person, opportunities for students to compete in both large-scale, and localized, tournaments. Our goal is to provide as many opportunities for Pennsylvania coaches and students to grow their esports program in a safe, and competitive nature. We believe that our partnership with PlayVS will do precisely that.
